Obama: Omission of slaves' history 'unacceptable'?

This was a shot at a Republican talking about the civil war . Obama stated It was unacceptable that he didn't talk about slaves. It's ironic when Obama and democrat leaders denounce slavery when in fact it was the Democrats who fought hard to keep slavery in place . It was the Republicans who freed the slaves .Democrat's all but 1 voted to keep slavery and did every thing they could to keep slaves but finally Republicans where able to make it against the law to have slaves ! But somehow when Democrat's discuss slavery they seam to forget this FACT!
