I want to feed my cichlids live brine shrimp, but a bit confused...?

I've never fed them live foods so this is my first time. Do I buy them live, do you buy the eggs and hatch them...if you buy them live how long do they last? Can someone give a me a quick rundown or direct me to a website that has one?
