Has anyone else found out the gender of their baby at 16 weeks?

I have a 3D ultrasound appointment at 16w2d and we are hoping with the babies cooperation we will be able to find out the gender. They said they can actually start telling the gender at 15 wks. Has anyone else found out this early? my doctor will not tell me until im at least 20 wks. also is early gender determination accurate,if you do the 3D ultrasound or even if you do the normal ultrasounds?
